Obituary for Jerry Carpenter

Jerry Carpenter
Jerry Gene Carpenter, age 70 of Morrisville, MO, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Mercy Hospital Springfield, MO. He was born January 14, 1947, in Morrisville, MO, to Edward Wilbur and Margaret Virginia (Armstrong) Carpenter. He is a US Army Vietnam veteran. He was united in marriage to Grace Irene Lampton January 3, 1977, and they raised two daughters.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Grace; two brothers: Johnny and Jim Carpenter; an infant sister Linda Lou; and close companion Donna Stewart.
He is survived by his daughter: Sharon Gordon and her husband Kirstian of Virginia, and Cherrelle Hitchcock and husband Samuel of Springfield, MO; three grandchildren: Ayla Gordon, Kael and Ezekiel Hitchcock; two brothers: Floyd “Bub” Carpenter of Willard, MO, and Rex Carpenter and wife Pam of Bolivar, MO; two sisters: Barbara Artz and husband Frank of Walnut Grove, MO, and Beverly Hagle and husband Grant of Springfield, MO; numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 PM Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Pitts Chapel. Private burial will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO.
