Maver Pippin (Tyndall)
Geneva Pippin Forrester, age 96, lifelong resident of Springfield, Missouri passed away peacefully in her home on April 3rd, 2017. She was born June 27th, 1920. She was the daughter of Joe and Ann Lee Tyndall of Springfield, Missouri. She married Oscar Jewel “Joe” Forrester, and together they were blessed with two sons, Clarence and Jimmy, and daughter, Sonjie. Geneva attended Baptist Bible College for two years studying Opera. She also worked at Lilly Tulip as a line worker for eighteen years. Geneva lived a full life and will be missed by all. Geneva was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-three years, Oscar Jewel “Joe” Forrester. She was also preceded by her second husband of twenty years, Vernal Pippin, her daughter, Sonjie Lee Bass, her son, James Larry “Jimmy” Forrester, her daughter-in-law, Lois Forrester, along with her mother, father, and grandparents. Geneva is survived by her son, Clarence Alvin Forrester, of Urbana, Missouri; son-in-law, Jerry Bass, of Florida; granddaughter, Teresa Simonson, and her husband, Bryon, of Florida; granddaughter, Denise Thomas, of Florida; grandson, Jerry Bass, and his wife, Mandy, of Florida; along with her four beautiful great grandchildren, Danielle, Brianna, Ricky, and Jamie; her faithful dog, Spot, and many friends. We would like to Michelle Fosburgh for the wonderful care she gave Geneva for the last six years. Services will be officiated by Clyde McClain on April 7th, 2017 at Greenlawn North Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to a St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
