Obituary for Larry Douglas McRoberts

Larry Douglas  McRoberts
Larry was born in Midland, Michigan on January 16, 1951. He graduated from Meridian High School in 1970.
He married Peggy Kelsey on May 23, 1970. They have two children, Mark and Kimberly. They moved to Springfield, Missouri in 1981. Larry drove a truck cross country for a few years then he trained at Cummins Diesel to work on diesel trucks. Later in life he began his own mobile business, first as Springfield Mobile Machine Service then it was renamed Battlefield Block repair. In his 60’s he opened Mac’s Machine Shop in Republic Missouri where his son Mark joined him. Larry belonged to Countryside Christian Church in Nixa.
He was a member of the Antique Truck Club and Antique Gas Engines Club. (Larry never knew a stranger) His passion besides his family and grandchildren, Larry loved showing his engines at the Republic Steam-O-Rama. Larry and the Truck Club added a replica of an old gas station there also.
Larry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Peggy McRoberts, his two children, Mark McRoberts and Kimberly (David) Plante, grandchildren, Nick, Rylee, Tanner, Lucas and Wyatt, sister Kathy Squires, Kandi (Pete) Haskell, Nash and Collin, Kari (Toby) Metiva and Taylor, Bob (Pam) Kelsey, Kim (Steve) Aulds, Pattie (Justin) Thompson, Megan Hwi, Rob (Rachel) Kelsey. Larry also left behind many wonderful friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Francis McRoberts, brother’s Bobby and Ben Squires and Robert and Joan Kelsey.
