Angela Cox, 53, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 27, 2018. She passed away in her Springfield, Missouri home while working in her office.
Born Angela Horned on September 9, 1964, in Springfield, Missouri Angela was the daughter of Larry D. and Judy A. (Gough) Horned, of Springfield and sister to Jeffery J. Horned, Chandler, AZ. She was married on June 2, 1984, to Terry L. Cox, son of Marion A. (Bud) and Virginia Cox of Independence, Missouri. Angela worked for PT Solutions (formerly Bridges Physical Therapy), Chalmette, Louisiana from her home for the past 9 years as a Medical Compliance Officer and Account/Billing Representative. She attended Kickapoo High School followed by Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Mo, where she met her husband who was her university track coach. Angela was a cheerleader in high school as well as an outstanding athlete, running track for Kickapoo. She later attended college on a track scholarship as a high jumper and hurdler. Her athleticism qualified her for the NCAA Division II National Track Championship meet as a Freshman in both events. After her marriage to Terry, the couple lived in Independence, Mo, Joplin, Mo, Columbia, Mo, Springfield, Mo, Evansville, IN, Lebanon, Mo, and for the past 12 years back in Springfield, Mo. Angela was a Springfieldian at heart where she could be near to lifelong friends and family who were extremely important to her. She gave her life to Jesus Christ in her teenage years and followed him faithful until her death. Angela and Terry were the proud parents of Shannon N. (Cox) Snyder, 23, and Connor J. Cox, 21, both of Springfield, Missouri.
Angela was loved by everyone who knew her. She was a kind, compassionate, and devoted wife, mother, daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, aunt, and cousin. She had a real talent for making others feel welcome and truly had a servant’s heart. While she was a hard worker for whoever she worked, she was never identified by her work. Rather she was known by those who knew her by her infectious can-do attitude, work ethic, ability to make others feel at ease and loving devotion to her family and friends. There was nothing that Angela loved more than a family gathering where she could love and laugh with those whom she loved. She was truly the most self-less person one would ever meet and her dedication to her family was unmatched. She will be missed by everyone who knew her and the world is less of a place by no longer having her in it. Family and friends can be comforted in knowing that Angela is now in heavenly places with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Angela was preceded in death by her father Larry Horned and father-in-law, Marion A. (Bud) Cox. She leaves behind her husband, Terry Cox, daughter Shannon (Cox) Snyder, son-in-law Nick Snyder, son Connor Cox, mother Judy Horned, and mother-in-law Virginia Cox, all of Springfield, Missouri.
