Obituary for Elwin McCurry

Elwin McCurry
Elwin D McCurry, age 95, of Buffalo, MO, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Cox Medical Center South. He was born in Whizbang, OK on February 23, 1923, the son Floyd and Nora McCurry.
He was a charter member and a long serving Deacon of the Bible Baptist Church in Buffalo. Him and his brother Glenn owned and operated McCurry Farm Supply just North of Fair Grove. Elwin D. always lived by the motto “God first, family second and business third.” He gave all credit to his success to God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lucille, three brothers: Dolan, Glenn E. and Don, a son-in-law Larry Weaver Jr, two great grandsons Aaron Weaver IV and Thomas Marie Pyatt. Elwin is survived by his daughter, Barbara Weaver Pyatt, five grandchildren: Aaron Weaver and his wife Haley, Shiloh Weaver, Judd Pyatt and wife Laura, Ben Pyatt and wife LeAnn and Alisha Pyatt and husband, ten great grandchildren: Paxton, Paylin, Anson, Leeson, Graeson, Edison, Lincoln, Lilly, Sydney and Andrew.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Bible Baptist Church Buffalo, MO from 2-4 pm. Funeral service will be Monday, at Bible Baptist Church at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at Mt. Comfort Cemetery North of Springfield. In lieu of flowers the family asked for donations to be made to the Gideon International.
