Max D. Lindsey went on to meet his Lord and Savior on Saturday April 28, 2018 at the age of 80. Max was born on March 24, 1938 to Jasper and Elmer (Sparks) Lindsey. He accepted Jesus as his savior at the age of 7 and was baptized in the Little Sac river. Max was a member of Springhill Baptist Church in 1945 and remained there until 2003 when He and Lucille joined Golden Harvest Church. On July 20th, 2008, Max was ordained as a Deacon at Golden Harvest.
Max joined the U.S. Navy in 1955 and served on the USS Fiske until 1959. In 1965 he moved to Wichita, KS where he met Lucille Martens. They we united in Marriage on December 18th of that year. In 1969 he took a job with Zenith and moved to Springfield, MO. Max worked at Zenith until 1992 and was a strong member of the I.B.E.W. Max loved Hunting, Fishing, Camping and spending time with Family.
Max was preceded in death by his Parents, 3 sisters and a brother. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Lucille, a son Mark (Teresa) Lindsey, a daughter Debbie Lindsey, 2 Granddaughters, Melissa and Courtney, 1 Great-Granddaughter and many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Max was fun to be around and enjoyed showing how much he liked you by teasing you. He passed away on April 28th at Mercy Hospital after a long struggle with health issues. He will be deeply missed by his Family and Friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial with Military Rites will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, near Willard, MO. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
