Obituary for Joyce Janette Young (Acheson)

Joyce Janette Young, age 67, went to be with our heavenly father on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. She was born in Norton, Ks on September 3, 1951 to Olen Donald and Letha Maye (Bangle) Acheson. She was the youngest of 4 children. She was a 1969 graduate of Morland High School. After her divorce, she put herself through Burge school of nursing while raising 3 young daughters. She graduated nursing school in 1991. She took pride in being a cardiac nurse at Cox South for 18 years. Everything she did was for her girls. She was spunky, strong willed, determined and full of life. Her sense of humor and magnetic personality drew people to her. Her laugh and smile lit any room. Left to carry on Joyce’s strong Godly legacy are her daughters; Jennifer (Kevin) Painter, Laurie (Josh) Reed, Andrea Dobler; 7 grandchildren; Keaton Painter, Karley Painter, Elijah Painter, Carter Reed, Kinley Reed, Ally Young, Charly Dobler; her mother, Letha (Bangle) Acheson; her 3 siblings, Sharon (Don) Davis, Donald (Carol) Acheson, Delbert (Carolyn) Acheson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
