Kenneth Boye Beckler, age 67, of Bolivar, MO, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014, surrounded by family, at Mercy Hospital Springfield, MO, after a battle with cancer. He was born July 8, 1947, in Tempe, AZ, to Gus and Mildred (Overturf) Beckler. As a teenager Kenneth was saved at Westside Baptist Church Shreveport, LA. He was united in marriage to Wanda Coffey September 27, 1966; to this union four children were born. He is a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Kenneth was loved by all who met him, and respected by all who worked with him. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Wanda Beckler of the home; five children: Karen Burkett of Chattanooga, TN, James A. Cope wife Jan of Chattanooga, TN, Juanita Holtschneider husband Greg of Marshfield, MO, Kimberley Payne husband Jeff of Bolivar, MO, and John Giedinghagen wife Amanda of Marshfield, MO; 9 grandchildren: Matthew, Kendra, Candice, Mary Beth, Shaylyn, Mason, Mia, Samuel, and David; four great grandchildren; two brothers: Randy Beckler wife Michelle of Marshfield, MO, Robert Beckler wife Brenda of Chattanooga, TN; one sister Tammy Ann of CO; mother in-law Granny Dot Overturf; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of life services will be held at 5:00 PM Friday, September 26, 2014, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, D Hwy Bolivar, MO, with Rev. Danny Vance officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Smoking Cessation program c/o Polk County Health Department Bolivar, MO.
