Lela Madge (Buckner) Pinegar at the age of 94 went home to be with her Lord and Savior September 1, 2014.She was born to Charles and Belle Buckner March 6, 1920 in Fruitland MO. On June 27, 1938 Madge became the bride of Thomas E. Pinegar and to that union they were blessed with three children, Charlene Crites, Darlene Mincks, and T. Edward Pinegar, Jr. When Madge was widowed in May 1986, she continued to take care of their farm in Ebenezer MO that she and Tom had diligently operated during their married life. In addition Madge was a full time employee of St John’s Hospital where she lovely cared for patients.She often said, “The Lord must have a reason to keep me here since I have outlived my parents and my whole generation. She and her brothers and sisters stayed close until their deaths: Ervin Buckner, Marie Medley, Earl Buckner, Edward Buckner, and Mable Carter.She is survived by her children and their spouses whom she greatly loved: Charlene Crites, Darlene and Jim Mincks, Ed and Carol Pinegar. Her grandchildren were blessed by having her to love. They include Barbara Crites, Becky Neal, Jeff Christian- wife Kelly, Crystal Mincks, Angela Pinegar, Tad Pinegar- wife Amy, Abigail Rose- husband Charles, and Ashlie Lordemann- husband Josh. She was fortunate to have great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren: Chris Neal- wife Olivia, Courtney Neal, Sean Kendrick, Krissi Spence- husband Payton, Mason Pinegar Priest, Alexis Pinegar, Tommy Pinegar, Linkin Pinegar, Mila Pinegar, Chaz Rose, Chance Rose, Rachael Lordemann, and Kristen Lordemann. Great- great-grandchildren are Parker, Nolan, Maddox, Annell, and one more on the way. It would be impossible to name her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her. One niece and family who lived close and was at the farm daily was very special to her: Susie and Ty Heavin and children Cody and Brooke.You can’t mention Granny, without remembering her delicious dinner rolls which were a family and friend favorite. Everyone looked forward to her pies and cobblers, which she enjoyed also making for the Ebenezer community. Gardening was a real joy for her and she canned many vegetables and fruits. Madge was well known for her crocheted dollies, table scarves, afghans, and handmade quilts. She always kept her hands busy. The Pinegar grandchildren will also miss her angel biscuits she baked Christmas morning for many years.The Family greatly appreciates the loving care that David Lawson gave her for a couple of years so she was able to be at her home. Also the great care she received while at The Neighborhoods of Quail Creek is appreciated.Visitation will be Tuesday, September 2, from 5:30 until 7:00 at Greenlawn North 3506 N. National. Funeral services will be Wednesday September 3, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Ebenezer 1 United Methodist Church on Farm Road 56.
