Lois Rippy was gracefully led to the Promised Land on October 17th after a 10 month battle with ovarian cancer.
Lois was born October 27, 1947 in Lebanon, MO to Lester and Lucille Moore who preceded her in death along with three sisters, Jeanie, Wilma Kay and Wanda. She is survived by her daughter, Kim Harris-Brooks and husband Randy Brooks of Springfield; stepson, Craig Rippy and wife Becky of St. James. She took much pride as Grandma Lois to; grandchildren, Stephanie, Gunnar, Lyric, Rena, Kaleb, Danee, Trisha and Josh; great grandchildren, Bentley and Landon. She is also survived by sisters, Caron Harrison, Laquitta Pulley, Cathy Jones and twin sister Louise Felton. Many nieces and nephews loved her as Aunt Lois.
Lois finally claimed retirement from her day to day paid work that included Zenith, Mid Am Dairy and Northrup Grumman in 2007. Her dedication was shown at work every day where she had over 35 years of perfect attendance. Many of those years as a single parent.
Her true profession was Giving. Lovingly known as “The Cinnamon Roll Lady”, Lois never grew tired when making her mother’s 4-hour recipe. She enjoyed making all sorts of desserts and loved to sew. Her favorite things to make were personalized baby blankets for new babies and monogrammed towels for newlyweds. Her newest hobby was making greeting cards.

A visitation will be held on ­Monday, October 20th from 4pm-7pm in the Greenlawn North Funeral Home. Services will be Tuesday, 10am at Crossway Baptist Church at 2900 N. Barnes in Springfield. Final resting place will be at Greenlawn North Cemetery.
