Michael Thomas Willis, age 64, of Springfield, MO, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 in his home. He was born November 19, 1950, in Springfield, MO, to Thomas and Vera (Fisher) Willis. He graduated from Pleasant Hope High School in 1968. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War . Mike was united in marriage to Ruth A. Mann on March 17, 1973 in Springfield. He retired from Sweet- Heart Cup Company in 2010. Mike was a avid fisherman , never missing a weekend fishing from 1973-1986. He was a member of Sac River Bass Masters Fishing Club, Mike also enjoyed playing golf.
He was preceded in death by his father,Thomas Willis and mother,Vera Looney. He is survived by his loving wife,Ruth A. Willis, Springfield; one son Derrick Willis and wife Nikki, Walls Ms; two granddaughters, Harper Willis and Annagrace Palmer; one grandson, Dylan Palmer; one brother, Ken Willis and wife Beverly, Brookline; one sister, Barbara Amass and husband Ed, Brookline; a step-mother, Mildred Willis; and a host of family and friends.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Missouri Veterans’s Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
