Ramona Beth Vaughn, age 62, of Springfield, MO, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015 in her home. She was born February 29, 1952, in Ironton, MO, to Chester and Ruth (Smith) Sulser. Ramona was a graduate of Ellington High School, she received her nursing degree from Burge School of nursing in 1973, she later received her B.S.N. degree from Southwest Baptist University in 2000. She was united in marriage to Gary Vaughn on August 10, 1973 in Ellington, MO. She worked for Cox Medical Center as a nurse for forty-one years. Ramona enjoyed reading a good book, her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Vaughn and her father, Chester Sulser. She is survived by her mother,Ruth Sulser, Ellington, MO; two sons, Jason Vaughn and wife Jenni, Springfield and Eric Vaughn and wife Tanya, Springfield; two grandsons, Nicholas and Brendan Vaughn; surrogate daughter, Amy Murphy of Springfield; one brother, Paul Sulser, Shelbyville, MO; two sisters, Krista Hampton, Ellington, MO and Paula Hulse, Hannibal, MO; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Rev. Paul Coltharp officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cox Health Good Samaritan Fund 3525 S. National Ave., Suite 204, Springfield, MO 65807. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
