Roger Popp, 74, Springfield, MO passed away at home on September 12, 2014.
He was born in Garden City, Ks on October 26, 1939.He graduated from Northwestern State University Alva, Oklahoma. He worked in sales for International Harvester to start his career. This led to an opportunity to start his own dealership. He was a longtime business owner in Springfield and Grain Valley, Mo before retiring due to his health.
He married Nancy MacCord in Pratt, Ks on August 30, 1964, and just celebrated their 50th anniversary.
Survivors include: wife Nancy, Springfield, son Rusty, Blue Springs, son Rick (Dana), Springfield, and daughter Amy (David) Houston, Carthage. Six grandchildren: Tyler, Lance, Emily and Curtis, Carthage, and Andrew and Allison, Springfield. He also leaves behind his dogs, Sophie and Katie.
He was a member of Battlefield United Methodist Church. Visitation will be in Greenlawn Funeral Home South on Sunday, September 14, 2014 from 4 – 6 p.m. with a private, family graveside service on Monday officiated by Rev. Frederick Zahn. In lieu of Flowers the family suggests donations to any No Kill animal shelter, Boys and Girls Town, or Victory Mission.
