Obituary for Evelyn Cochran

EVELYN ELIZABETH COCHRAN, 99, of Republic, Mo. passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018, at the
OZARK METHODIST MANOR in Marionville, Mo., after a long illness. She was born on March 5, 1919 in Arland, Wisconsin, to Clara Emile and John Willmsen.

Evelyn was a Christian and expressed her faith by attending Southern Baptist, Bible churches and personal witnessing. Her two favorite verses: Psm 119:11-Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against Thee. II Cor. 5:10-Only what's done for Christ will last.

She leaves her son, Kent Cochran of Republic, Mo., grand-daughter and her husband Keri and Ivan Peterson of Blue Springs, Mo. two great-grandsons Izaiah and Kegan Peterson, a sister and her husband Shirley and Harry Baldwin of Hot Springs Village, Ark. as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her husband James Cochran, sisters Edna Goebel, Della Persons, Pearl Hammerand, and brothers Melvin Willmsen, Vernon Willmsen.

She was raised in a hard working dairy farm family. She was a retired IBM key punch operator for the I.R.S. and several Kansas City area banks. During WW II she worked for several defense contractors in support of the war effort.

She lived for extended periods in Los Angeles , Calif., Smithville, Mo., Gladstone, Mo., and Republic., Mo. In the best of tradition she was a terrific cook, knitted blankets, sweaters and afghans for family members.

Per Evelyn and the family it is requested that donations be made to the Gideons in lieu of flowers and plants.

Graveside services will be at 11:00am Saturday JULY 21, 2018 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with a lunch following for all attendees.
