Obituary for Willa Mae McKinney

Willa Mae  McKinney
Willa Mae McKinney, 87, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on July 30, 2018. She was born June 4, 1931, in Fair Grove, MO to Anna Mae (Baker) and William Franklin Scott.
Willa Mae graduated from Strafford High School in 1949, 4th in her class. She entered Southwest Missouri State College (known as Missouri State University now) in 1950.
She went onto work at Sweetheart Cup, retiring after 39 years with many lifelong friends.
She not only played basketball and softball but supported her favorite MSU Basketball Bears and STL Cardinals. She loved to participate in her Tai Chi classes and promoting it every chance she got.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Gail (McKinney) Oberbeck, son-in-law, Randy G. Crocker, her parents, and four siblings.
She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Ann (McKinney) Crocker, her grandchildren, Cullen B. Crocker (Amy), Jennifer K. Wortman (Mark), and Kendall B. Bennett (Todd). They called her Green Grandma. They were and always will be the sunshine of her world. In addition, her great grandchildren; Cannon B. Crocker, Maxim B. Wortman, Chase T. Wortman and Presley A. Bennett, her sister, Lucille (Ron) Rogers, brothers Jack (JoAn) Scott, Elmer (Suzanne) Scott, Jerry (Connie) Scott, sister-in-law Jeanine Campbell, and many nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the special care given by those during her stay at The Fremont Assisted Living and BirchPointe.
A memorial visitation will be held 5:30-7:30PM, Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Greenlawn East Funeral Home, 3540 E Seminole, Springfield MO.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Willa Mae’s honor to the Northview Center, 301 E Talmage Street, Springfield MO 65803.
