Mary Jane (Morris) Cross went to be with her heavenly Father, January 7, 2019. She was born in Gary, In., Feb. 5, 1943, the daughter of Jerome and Mae Morris.

She married Joseph Cross on Oct. 29, 1966, at Central Christian Church in Springfield. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2016. They were blessed with two children, Kevin and Michelle.
Mary Jane was a faithful member of Central Christian Church for 70 years. She served as an elder and in many other ways.
Mary Jane lived almost her entire life in Springfield, having moved here at age 5. She attended Boyd Elementary, Pipkin Junior High, and Springfield Central. Mary graduated from SMS (MSU) and began her career in the medical field as a Medical Technologist. She worked for nearly 50 years in that field at the Professional Building, Cox South, and Cox North before retirement.
She enjoyed traveling, the Springfield Cardinals, and the St. Louis Cardinals. She loved to read and participate in all family gatherings. She had many cousins who agreed she was their favorite.
She is survived by her husband Joe; son Kevin; brother Robert (Bob) Morris and wife Carolyn, of Lee’s Summit; sister Patricia Wommack, of Kimberling City; seven nieces and nephews and eight greats, who all adored her.
Preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Michelle, and many beloved aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of her life will be held Friday, January 11, 2019, at Central Christian Church, 1475 N. Washington Ave., Springfield, with a visitation held at 10 am, and celebration of life at 11 am. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Christian Church.
