Mr. Verlon E. Koch, age 90 of Morrisville, MO, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019, in his home. He was born May 6, 1929, in McDowell, MO, to Edward Charles and Myrtle Fine (King) Koch. He attended Mt. Zion Bible School, where he started preaching the gospel at the early age of 17.

Verlon was ordained with The Church of God in September 3, 1952. He pastored in Rogers, AR, Paola, KS, Benkelman, NE, Eudora, MO, and retired in Greenfield, MO. He worked with his first wife Betty for over 17 years printing the Gospel Emancipator.
He worked for Springfield Paper Company for 18 years, and worked as a self-employed carpenter for over 33 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Betty Jean Koch; and three sisters: Nola Ash, Reva Brown, and Jewell Moudy.
He is survived by his second wife Melissa of the home; his son Max Koch and his wife Kay of Morrisville, MO; three grandchildren: Verlonda Slentz and her husband Rob of Katy, TX, Douglas Koch and his wife Jodi of Goodson, MO, and Mark Koch of Morrisville, MO; six great grandchildren: Zack, Katie, Kenzie, Rylee, Palyn, and Logan; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Pitts Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 13, 2019, in the funeral home, with Bro.
