Obituary for Robert Edwin Swanson

Robert Edwin Swanson, 89 Springfield, Mo. passed away September 19, 2019. Robert was a Naval Veteran of WWII.
He retired as Chief Stationary Engineer, member of Local 399, proud former Fireman on Illinois Central Railroad. Former Grand Knight to Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Swanson, brother to Dorothy Hawkins (of whom he was almost famous for teasing....a lot), uncle to Bob Simon, father to Gary Swanson and the late Sheryl Schuster, stepfather to Brian Grant, grandfather to Todd (Megan) Schuster and Ann (Daniel) Daly, Ashley (Michael) Keeley and Michael Grant, great grandfather to Madelyn Schuster and Kiera Schuster, great uncle to Kristy Hawkins.

Visitation for Robert will be 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Sunday, September 22, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 23, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 3555 S. Fremont with burial at Resurrection Cemetery following the service.
