Obituary for Vernie Hue Walker

Vernie Hue Walker, 89, of Strafford, Missouri passed away on November 8, 2019 at Strafford Care Center. Vernie was born on February 15, 1930 to Edward and Nima Walker.
Vernie was a graduate of Spokane High School. Following high school Vernie enlisted in the United States Army and he served during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Miss. Jossie Rose on January 22, 1951 and to this union three children were born.
Vernie was an avid coon hunter, loved horseback riding, and all things outdoors. He was very proud of all of his family especially his grandchildren.
Vernie was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings, and two grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Jossie, of the home; two daughters, Janet Farrell and Rosalee Going, and one son, Johnny Walker; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association - Greater Ozarks MO Chapter.

Vernie was a special uncle who I remember him being instrumental in me being thrown over the head of a little pony at a very young age.

Vernie was a very special uncle to me. his humor, wit ,and wisdom taught me alot at a young age.from coon hunting, to piling brush and cutting wood at grandpaw roses place.dropping knifes, campfire coffee when cutting wood,and coon hunting, are some of my best memories .
