Obituary for Virginia Faye Machicao (Presley)

Virginia Faye Machicao (formerly Virginia Faye Presley) of Springfield, Missouri passed on December 2, 2019 at the age of 88 surrounded by loved ones. Virginia was born November 15, 1931 in Springfield, Missouri to Elmer and Floie Presley. Virginia attended grade school in Springfield and then attended Central High School where she excelled in speaking Spanish and dance. She graduated from Central High School in 1950.
Following high school, Virginia worked as a translator in a government position. She then went on to become a high school teacher in Springfield and taught Spanish as well as English as a second language. Virginia loved being a teacher. She also was fortunate to find true love with her husband, Hugo Leonardo Machicao. He is Bolivian and loved to dance, which was perfect for her. They wed on March 25, 1953. Virginia had two children and four grandchildren. She was also soon to become a great grandmother. Virginia liked a little adventure in her life and loved to travel. She even lived in Bolivia for a time. Virginia brought joy to everyone around her and her dancing, including the Tango, will not be forgotten. Virginia lived a full life and will be greatly missed.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Hugo Leonardo Machicao of Springfield, Missouri; her children, Vincent Richard Machicao and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Machicao of Springfield, Missouri; Lisa Christine Machicao and her husband, Craig William Stroble of Overland Park, Kansas; her brother, Melvin Presley and his wife, Florence Presley of Branson West, Missouri; and her best friend and sister-in-law, Gayle Williamson. She is further survived by her grandchildren Zachary Lee Machicao, Brandon Scott Machicao and his wife, Emily Machicao, who are expecting, Lawson Machicao Stroble, and Gentry Machicao Stroble. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Floie Presley, and her brother, Jerry Presley.
