DeEsta Beets left a message on October 7, 2024:
I knew Alan for over 35 years. He started as my friend while we're in high school. We enjoyed building model cars together just hanging out with his 2 baby sisters, to which one was my bestest friend. He always rooted for the underdog and always protected and bonded so sweetly with special needs children and adults, I loved this about him. He was a talented artist and craftsman. His ability to transform a blank canvas or scrap of wood into something beautiful is a raw talent that few hold. His greatest treasures and legacy he leaves behind are our children and grandchildren, to whom he loved dearly and would protect at all costs from outsiders if need be. But also he left behind a beautiful, kind and caring woman he spent the last 15 years with and my heart goes out to you Samantha, to lose your best friend and the love of your life, breaks my heart. I pray for all those who loved him and I pray fervently for God to wrap His arms each of you during this time and that you feel only the peace that God can extend.

As the father of my grandchildren, you'll always hold a special place in my heart. On your recent visit to my home in Texas, we had a genuine peace between us that I will cherish. Ride in glory, Alan. Love, Pris Greene or as you jokingly called me, "Mommie Dearest "
