Albert “Reese” Warden passed away May 4, 2015 at the Missouri Veterans Home at Mt. Vernon MO.
He was born to Albert and Ida Warden September 20, 1922 at Trail, OK. They preceded him as well as 4 brothers and 4 sisters and 4 wives and two grandsons and a great grand- daughter.
He served in WWII with the 42 Rainbow Division as an army medic. On April 29, 1945, they liberated Dachua Concentration Camp. He received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his heroic efforts. He was able to go on the Honor Flight in 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed the quick trip. He was the Greatest Generation.
He was a milk hauler Mid America Dairymen for 38+ years.
He loved to pitch horseshoes and went to tournaments all over the United States for 38 years. He pitched in a couple of World Tournaments. In 2013 he pitched in the MO State Tournament at the age of 91.
He is survived by a daughter Nina (Roger) Fuhr of Marionville, sons Tim (Morgan) Warden and Roger (Kathy)Warden of Ozark. Step children: Janet (David)Haffner of Marshfield. Joyce (Loren) McCammon and Ted (Dee) Allen of Springfield. T.A. (Terri) Allen of Altus OK. 15 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 2. Great-great grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn East with visitation Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Missouri Veterans Home, Mt. Vernon, MO or the Fair Haven Childrens Home, Strafford, MO.
