Alfred John Clemens Sr. passed away peacefully on October 5, 2020 At Mercy hospital in Springfield Missouri. He was born December 9, 1927 in Muskegon Michigan to Anna Virta and Arvid Clemens. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1945 and was stationed in Germany during occupation. There he met and married Erna Kaiser on March 20, 1947. He was a technical illustrator for Lockheed-Martin for nearly 40 years before retiring. He had a wanderers heart, running away from home at 16 and hitchhiking across the United Sates. In his later years he enjoyed traveling with his wife and grandkids or just taking a drive through the country for an hour or so. He wrote a book all about American Armored Cars after his son asked him a question about them and later in life wrote various magazine articles and anecdotes. He loved talking to people, telling stories and singing silly songs. He is proceeded in death by his son Alfred John Clemens Jr. and his wife Erna. He is survived by by his other son Bruce Clemens, his four grandchildren: Michael, Belinda, Abigail and Hannah as well as eight great- grandchildren: Ashleigh, Zachary, Caelynn, Kaitlyn, John, Ada, Thomas and Veda. He will be greatly missed.
