Our loving Dad, Allen E. Stockstill of Springfield, MO, age 93, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. He was a long time member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church in Marshfield, MO.
Born April 18, 1929, he was one of ten siblings. He graduated from Pleasant Hope High School in 1947. This Past October, he was able to attend his 75th High School reunion.
He was married 53 years to his high school sweetheart, Mollie Jane McCurdy. Together they raised four children.
Allen worked at Colonial Bakery in Springfield for 36 years. One of his favorite things to do upon retirement was meeting up monthly with his old bakery buddies for breakfast at Georges. He loved spending time in the outdoors canoeing, cave exploring, mushroom hunting, dirt biking, camping with his family and hiking the Ozark Trails. One of his proudest accomplishments was hiking the Irish Wilderness Trail with his son, Tim.
Even though he called himself a “hobby farmer”, he loved raising cattle, putting up hay and maintaining the farm.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mollie Jane, and an infant son, Gregory Allen. He leaves behind his daughters, LaDonna Blair and her husband (Pat), Teresa Herrin, Sandra Johnson and husband (Jim), his son, Brian Timothy and his sisters, Peggy Johnston, Wichita, Margie Hull, Sparta, and Mary Hartman, Fair Grove, as well as six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Memorial services will be held at Greenlawn North, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17 from 5:00-7:00 pm. The funeral services will be Friday, November 18 at 10:00 am followed by burial at Mt. Comfort Cemetery.
