Allen James Fisher blessed his family and Oak Park, Il when he was born 49 years ago. After living in Springfield, Mo for the last 21 years he passed on to his heavenly reward and eternal life with Jesus Christ His personal savior. Allen is saving seats for his wife, of 21 ½ years Carrie, his two sons, Gabriel James 19, and Tristian John 17. His sister, Sonja O’Brien. Nephew Shawn O’Brien, wife Autum, their two boys and two girls. He is also saving seats for his uncles, aunts, and many cousins (of which he was the favorite) and their children.
Allen started in the work force as many teens do, he worked in fast food and a restaurant or two. As an adult he enjoyed working as captain of security at Baptist Bible College, a youth director in Iowa, and his longest running career as an over the road truck driver.
His graduation from Baptist Bible College was a proud moment for him. He then attended and graduated Vatterott College. Friends were made at both schools. He held those close to him and cherished the memories.
Services for Allen will be held Tuesday November 17th at Crossway Baptist Church in Springfield, Mo. Visitation starting at 5 P.M. with the celebration of his life at 6 P.M. In lieu of flowers we ask donating to Crossway Baptist Churches Adoption Ministry to help families adopt children. You can send a check to the church, 2900 West Barnes Springfield, Mo 65803 or give on their website on the giving page under Adoption Ministry, www.crosswaybc.org.
Allen will be remembered for many things, as a jokester, pool playing, video gamer, b-ball playing, movie watching, sports lover. He cheered for the Chicago Bears, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Cubs, and even the White Sox. However, his favorite games to watch were whatever his boys were playing. His collection of comic books, sports cards and Star Trek books kept him busy in his free time. A friend to all he never knew a stranger. His contagious smile and laughter. He was loyal, fiercely protective, kind, genuine, and a shining light. Most of all he loved Jesus and family. A friend said, “To know Allen you knew his love for Jesus, and his love and dedication to his family.” He loved BIG and will be missed BIG.
