Alvin Hunt 89 passed away August 16, 2015. Al was born in Lodi, OK to Elijah and Minnie Hunt. He served in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. Following WWII, Al lived in Oakland, CA. where he married Peggy Peters. He worked for Owens – Illinois Glass Company for 34 years. After retiring he moved to Galena, MO. He worked for 20 years for Silver Dollar City as a cook for the Rib House Restaurant. Al loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved to garden. He also liked to travel and enjoyed his music. Al was a generous, kind, and loving person. He took joy in helping others. He never met a stranger. He always had a smile on his face and a pat on the back for his many friends. Al was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy, and his son, Matthew Hunt. Al is survived by a son, Allen Ballenger of Lake Arthur, LA., and a daughter, Karen Prock of Rogersville, MO. Al has 9 grandchildren and 3 great- children. Visitation will be Friday August 21, 2015 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Services will be Saturday August 22, 2015 at 10 a.m. in Seymour Masonic Cemetery, Seymour, MO.
