Alvin Joseph Dickens, 87 of Springfield, died peacefully, Tuesday, September 8 at home. He was born to Earl and Edna Dickens in Springfield, Missouri on October 18, 1921. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie of 64 years. Survivors include his three sons, Jimmie and his wife Shirley Dickens, Bobbie and his wife Laura Dickens of Springfield, David and his wife April Dickens of Bolivar; and one daughter, Karen Yates and her husband Greg of Springfield. He was blessed with ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The memorial Service will be held at Greenlawn North on Saturday, September 12 at 1 p.m. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 11. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery following the service.
