Anna Dolores Ringenberg Kelley passed peacefully in her home with her family on the morning of September 6, 2015. She was born on the family farm located on the old FF highway in Battlefield, MO on May 22, 1919 to Martin & Jeliou Ringenberg. She attended the one room Roundtree School house for 8 years then graduated from Republic High School in 1937. She attended the little country church down the road from Roundtree School & was baptized in Wilson’s Creek.
On July 7, 1941 she & Donald Kelley married. They had celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary shortly before Don’s passing in 2010.
Dolores loved her family more than anything in the world & spent her life dedicated to them. Every child, grandchild & great-grandchild was spoiled by her immeasurable cooking talents. Her pies especially will be missed as no one has ever been able to duplicate her perfect pie crusts! As a life-long cat lover, she has rescued many homeless cats and, also, gave generously to animal shelters & helped others to be able to have their animals spayed. Her strong fortitude kept her going for 96 years & she has set the bar high-for all of us. Her sweet smile, twinkling blue eyes, her kind, compassionate & giving spirit will be greatly missed by her family & friends.
Dolores is survived by her daughter Patricia; a son Mike (Karen); grandsons Joshua & David (Tammy); granddaughters Lori & Katy (Colin); great grandchildren Brenden, Tyler, Sherry (Ron), Brad (Sarah), Zachary and her 3 beloved cats.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with graveside service at 3:00 P.M. at Hazelwood Cemetery.
Her two big passions are flowers & the effort to control feral cat population. Flowers are joyfully accepted as well as donations to the Springfield Animal Advocacy Foundation.
