Annie L. Cowan of Springfield, MO passed away the morning of Sunday, December 18, 2016 at her home. She was 84. Annie was born May 1, 1932 in Nantucket Island, MA. She married the love of her life, Kenneth W Cowan, September 2, 1956 who preceded her in death October 1997. Annie was also preceded in death by her son Kenneth (Troy) Cowan in August 1993. She worked as a credit counselor for Cox hospital retiring at the age of 65. She enjoyed reading, sewing and various crafts but loved nothing more than conversing with anyone that would listen and spending time with her family. She was often found in the passenger seat with her grandson Blayne whom she loved dearly. Annie was survived by three of her children, Wes Cowan (Christie Cowan), Holt, MO, Thresa Cowan-Doyle (Terry Doyle) Springfield, MO and Brent Cowan (Dana Brown) Pleasant Hope, MO. Annie had two grandchildren Blayne Cowan and Clayton Cowan, as well as 5 step grandchildren. Survivors also included two brothers Charles Bromley and Daniel Bromley as well as two sisters Roberta Hicks and Schandera Wormington. Visitation services will be held Thursday December 22, 2016 at Green Lawn North funeral home from 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
