Arlis Ray Bilyeu of Reeds Spring, Missouri, son of Shird and Ella Mae (Rose) Bilyeu, born July 2, 1940 in Berryville, Arkansas, departed this life June 17, 2016, at age 75. Arlis grew up in Carr Lane, MO and was a resident of Reeds Spring, Missouri since 1967. He was of Christian faith.
Arlis served in the U.S. Army, active duty, November 1963-November 1965, stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, 511 Armorer, Sharpshooter [rifle].
He was an avid “coonhunter” starting at a very young age and hunted all his life. He hunted “Treeing Walkers,” won many trophies in U.K.C. Nite Hunts. Arlis acquired many coonhunting friends throughout his life and several became very close friends.
His work history mostly consisted of factories until 1990 when he went to work for the Public Works Departments in Branson, MO and retired in 2002.
Preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, William, Everett, George, Purd and Carl Bilyeu; three sisters, Goldie Martin, Maxine Fancher and Dottie Pecena.
Survivors include: wife, Linda (Mease) Bilyeu, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 16, 2016; two sons, Kent Bilyeu and Keith Bilyeu, both of Reeds Spring, MO; two daughters, Gayla Webb and Lori Folsom and husband Zachary, of Reeds Spring, MO; twelve grandchildren, Lorabeth Johnson and husband Levi, Cody Clevenger, Austin Bilyeu, and wife Kandis, Dakota Bilyeu and fiancé Cassidy Sands, Caleb Slay, Corbin Gibson, Clay Gentry, Audrey Bilyeu, Chloe Gentry, Connor Bilyeu, Maddy Bilyeu, and Addison Bilyeu; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other family of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson, MO, with Pastor Jeff Daniels and Zachary Folsom officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Yocum Pond Cemetery, Reeds Spring, MO.
