Betty Creson, age 83, passed away on May 20, 2019 in Springfield, MO. She was born on February 27, 1936 in Verona, MO to her parents, Ferdinand Lechner and Gertrude (Pilkerton) Lechner. She attended school in Verona and Graduated from Verona High School. Betty work at Mercy (St. John's) Hospital in Springfield for 23 years as the Grill Cook in the Cafeteria, she also worked for Crane Manufacturing and she was also a Beautician. Her hobbies of late was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and catching up with her favorite television shows and she always loved talking about and sharing stories about the past.
Betty married Don Nivens and after he passed away she married John Creson. She is preceded in death by both her husbands along with her parents, a daughter, Jill Nivens Harless, her step-son, John Creson Jr. and her daughter-in-law, Donna Nivens. Betty is survived by her son, Donny Nivens, step-daughter, Evon Rhodes, her grandchildren, Brad Davis and his wife, Lucy Davis, Monica Nivens, Laura Shaw, Taylor Shaw and spouse and Megan Creson and spouse, along with great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Donovan and Dexter, her brother, Kenneth Lechner and his wife Lois, niece, Cindy Sheppard, and close friends, Alan and Julie Davis and Fran and Dave Bunch, and last but not least, her cat companions, Gary and Billy Bob.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 26, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in Greenlawn Funeral Home South with the burial being on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora, MO.
