Betty Lou Zane Robertson, daughter of the late Jim and Myrtle and Myrtle Zane was born January 10, 1929 in Joplin, Missouri. She attended Drury University and graduated from St. John’s School of Nursing. She was a life-long resident of Springfield, Missouri.
Betty met the love of her life, Bob Robertson, on March 29, 1947. They were united in holy matrimony in June of 1950 and for 37 years he was the highlight of her life. This union was blessed with one child. Stacy Alan Robertson.
Betty worked in the medical field until she became a mother to her only son, Stacy. Stacy became the most important part of her life. She was a happy mother and homemaker until 1985 and went to work as a secretary of Brentwood Christian Church. She was a dedicated member of Brentwood and served faithfully. Betty had many happy years there and retired in January of 2000.
Betty was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was active in the garden club and created beautiful flower arrangements. She enjoyed reading and bowling. Betty was a lifelong fan of the St.Louis Cardinals. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
Betty is survived by her son Stacy and his wife, Melette Robertson; their son, Dmitry Robertson, one cousin, Bill Perry, Overland Park, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and her sister Patricia Zane.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2020, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Charles Bahn officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. before services, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
