Betty loved people. Everywhere she went, she took time to say hello, listen and give a hug to those she knew as well as complete strangers.
Betty loved her church and after both daughters took their families and moved away, She would often say that her church family was her family now. She loved to be a greeter at High Street, standing for 2 hours, to hug people and give out a “God Bless You”
Betty loved to have fun. She loved to travel. She wanted to make every trip an adventure. She traveled back to MO. from Tx, often in the last year of her life, including the week before her death.
Betty loved to sing. After asking Jesus to be her Lord and Savior at the age of 12, she immediately began to work in the church. Singing, teaching Sunday School, and becoming a greeter. She began helping Baptist Bible College students, by watching their children in her home for $1 a day, charging them only if they could afford it.
Betty led a full and blessed life. She and Wade worked at High Street for many years as the custodians. They loved to deliver flowers to the home bound, elderly, and nursing homes. Betty loved this ministry, after Wades passing, Ray Young stepped in and helped her keep it going.
