Beverly Kay Smith, age 71, of Springfield, MO, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in her home. She was born February 26, 1944, in Greene County,MO, to William and Olive (Oliver) Burdette. Beverly retired from Cox Medical Center after 32 years of service as a x-ray technician.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and soul mate, of 36 years James D. Smith, who passed away in 2011. Beverly was also preceded by her K-9 companion Alex, and her three sisters: Patsy Wheeler, Peggy Willoughby, and Saundra Rhodes. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Burlison and her husband Donald, one grandson Colton McKinley Burlison, who was the sunshine of her life, a special niece Sheri Wadsworth and great-niece; Madeline Wadsworth, two step-grandchildren; Taylor Burlison and Whitney Bader, and one sister Joanne Greene, all of Springfield, MO. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 5, 2015, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO with Mr. Bobby Steinshouer officiating. Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. before services on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
