Billie Jo Stock Ellison, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on July 20, 2015. Billie left this earth far too early, but during her life of only 45 years, she impacted numerous lives and made their world a better place. Billie was proceeded in death by her father, Leonard Stock Sr.; mother, Anita “Connie” Stock; and sister, Linda Stock. Billie is survived by her husband and soulmate, Everett “Ed” Ellison and her son Evan, of the home; daughter Kindra, her fiancé’ Travis, and granddaughter Adrianna; and step-daughter Christine Ellison; five brothers, Ronald Stock and wife Kim; Leonard Stock and wife Frances; and Joby Stock; Patrick Stock and wife Robyn; Mike Stock and wife Lesa; and one sister, Jo Ann Curry; and many nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Billie’s life was full of love and enjoy, truly she lived life by the motto “Live, laugh and love”. If you couldn’t have fun with Billie, then you just couldn’t have fun. One of Billie’s favorite things was to have family gatherings and cook for everyone. Billie’s house was always open for anyone and she made sure everyone walked away with at least one button undone. In line with her love of family gatherings was her passion for taking family photos and scrapbooking. Billie loved the outdoors, especially the lake and camping, she was most at peace when she had a rod and reel in her hand trying to catch the big one. She rivaled her brothers and others during their annual football picks and walked away the winner many times (much to the frustration of her brothers). One of her wishes was to complete her college education. Billie held an associate’s degree in hotel management and was just 4 days away from completing a second associate’s degree in hospitality.
Family was the heart and soul of Billie. She started her family early in her life with her daughter Kindra. Billie talked with Kindra every day, guiding her when she had questions, leading her when she needed direction and loving her every moment of everyday. Billie and Kindra loved being together, they were not just mother and daughter, and they were truly best friends. Billie’s life was turned upside down several years later when she found out she would bring a baby boy into this world, she named him Evan. Billie told family that having a baby later in life kept her young. Billie loved Evan with all her heart and soul. She made sure he behaved like he should, took responsibility for his actions, and she always encouraged him to be the best he could be. Billie gave Evan a solid foundation to enter manhood and to try his best to make a positive impact on the world. When Billie thought her heart could hold no more love, along came her granddaughter Adrianna, it was love at first sight!
Billie shared over 15 years with her soulmate, Ed. Ed was Billie’s rock, he held her close and protected her during the rough times and shared laughter until they cried during the good times. Billie said “yes” to Ed and they were married April 11, 2014! There were never two people who were meant for each other as much as Ed and Billie, they were truly a perfect match and their love will live on through their children.
Visitation for Billie will be held Friday, July 24 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North with funeral services at the same location on Saturday, July 25 at 11:00.
