Bobbie L. Leak of Strafford, Missouri, entered this world at 8:50 am on June 12, 1947 in Tucumcari, New Mexico to Clarence “Butch” and Helen (Verbeck) Hoskins. She left this world peacefully surrounded by loved ones at 9:54 pm on March 9, 2020; at the age of 72 in Springfield, Missouri.
Bobbie was an active member within the community, a 4-H Leader, Girl Scout Leader, and a Den Mother. She was also a member of the PTA and Route 66 Day Committee for many years. Bobbie was known for planning the Tucumcari Piñata Pageants and the Strafford School Talent Shows. She loved to draw and paint, teach children how to make crafts, work outside in her flower garden, make decorations for local businesses, and watch her Western shows. Bobbie’s favorite activity was to play dominoes whenever she had company over and would win on a regular basis. She spent her life as a nurse, beautician, and teacher’s aide to special needs children. She also worked with AYUSA, placing foreign exchange students in American homes.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her husband, George “Jackie”, her 5 children- Renee, Donita, Sherry, Donnie, and Kayla. Her brother Odis, several grandchildren, 2 nieces, and many other family and friends. Bobbie will be remembered as talkative, joking, loving, gracious, and helpful woman who loved to be around people and tell stories. A Celebration of Life for Bobbie will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020 at the Greenlawn Funeral Home North, 3506 N. National Ave. Springfield, MO 65803 anytime from 6-8 pm.
