Bonnie June Kuhl, aged 54, passed away unexpectedly on August 23, 2023, in Springfield, Missouri. “BJ” as she was affectionately known was born in Marceline, Missouri on November 1, 1968 to Norman Paul Kuhl, Jr. and Bonnie Muriel (Gandy) Kuhl. Her bright light and big selfless heart left us too soon, but we will remember her warmth, beauty both inside and out, and her love and generosity. BJ will be lovingly remembered by her willingness to always do for others before herself, her love for her family and friends, and her strong faith and love for our Lord Jesus Christ.
BJ was a graduate of Brookfield High School in 1986 and she went on to pursue a career in Business accounting graduating from Colorado Technical University with a bachelor’s in accounting. She secured a position with Branson Landing where she had been employed for the past 10 years. BJ was a longtime member of the Broadway Baptist Church in Oak Grove, Missouri, prior to moving to Springfield, Missouri in 2013. She enjoyed serving the church in many numerous roles including bookkeeping, Sunday School and Children’s Church. BJ was very passionate about her family and friends always giving to others 100 percent and never expecting or wanting anything in return. BJ taught us all some fundamental lessons while she made her short journey through life. of which, the most memorable was her strong faith and love for Jesus, her impenetrable gratitude, and her love for others above herself especially with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie M. (Gandy) Kuhl, paternal and maternal grandparents.
BJ is survived by her father Norman P. Kuhl, JR. and wife of Odessa MO; brother Norman J. Kuhl and wife of Halfway, MO; brother William Paul Kuhl of Palmyra MO; sister Lisa M Kuhl of Springfield MO; sister Nancy L Anspaugh and husband of Clinton, MO; sister Amy D. Kuhl of Springfield, MO. And 11 nieces and nephews; and 25 great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held at Greenlawn South Funeral Home, 441 W. Battlefield, Springfield, Missouri 65807 at 6pm, Friday, September 8, 2023.
