Bonnie Ruth Hedgpeth, age 82, of Shell Knob, MO, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Aurora Nursing Center. She was born October 25, 1932, in Lebanon, MO, to Fredrick and Sarah (Wasmeir) Worthy. She was united in marriage to Gerald Hedgpeth on March 14, 1948 in Springfield, Missouri. Bonnie worked at Zenith for twenty-five years, she was one of the last employees, before the plant was relocated. Bonnie enjoyed going to the lake, listening to old country and blue grass music, and traveling with their camper, she enjoyed watching NASCAR, and was a big Dale Earnhardt fan. Bonnie’s greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In fact Gerald and Bonnie recently moved from Springfield to Shell Knob to be closer to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Sarah Worthy; one grandson, Justin Burrell; three brothers; and five sisters.
She is survived by Husband of sixty-seven years, Gerald Hedgpeth; three children, Ken Hedgpeth and wife Cindy of Shell Knob, Wanda Burrell and husband Gary of Shell Knob, and Jerry Hedgpeth and wife Sarah of Ash Grove; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 23, 2015, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Rev. Chet Shaw officiating. Burial will immediately follow the services in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
