Carla Yvonne (Chambliss) Harp, of Rogersville, MO, passed away on June 15, 2024 at the age of 77.
She was born on January 12, 1947, in Antlers, OK to Ollie Roy “Sam” Chambliss and Beatrice “Bea” (Keeling) Chambliss.
Carla grew up and attended school in Matador, TX until her family moved to Conway, MO, where she graduated high school.
Carla wed the love of her life, Bill Harp, August 20, 1983 and they made a home filled with happiness in Rogersville, MO.
Carla started as a court reporter and later worked as a Legal Secretary for Attorney Bruce McCurry until her retirement.
She was a loyal and avid reader and always had a book in her hand. She also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as sitting outside, cooking, shopping on QVC and watching NewsMax. Carla was known for her kindness, gentle nature, and her ability to give an intense “mom look.”
Carla is survived by her daughter Marcy (Jay) Chitwood of Rogersville, MO, stepson Rick (Rossell) Harp, Springfield, MO, stepdaughter Belinda Harp, Springfield, MO, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister Linda Tiffin of Plainview, TX as well as her beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her father Sam Chambliss, mother Bea Chambliss Dedmon, sister Charlotte Thurman, brother Pete Chambliss, sister-in-law Judy Chambliss and her husband William H. “Bill” Harp, Jr.
A service to honor Carla’s life will be held Monday, July 1, 2024, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East in Springfield, MO. Visitation will take place from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with the service following at 1:00 pm. The graveside service will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
Carla’s daughter, Marcy, would like to thank the following for taking care of her mother so she had dignity and grace until the end. Dr. Zubair and his
