Catherine “Cathy” Dawn LaVallee, 64, Springfield, went to see her heavenly Father on Saturday, March 23, 2019. Cathy was born on May 13, 1954 in Monett, Missouri to Don & Wanda (Clay) Hatridge.
Cathy was raised in Southern California and attended LaMirada High School (class of 1972). She met her husband of 45 years in high school and they were married in December of 1973 while he was active duty Air Force. They lived in Nebraska, Illinois, California, and Missouri. Cathy had an Associates Degree in interior design and climbed the ladder to become the first woman Regional Sales Manager in the school yearbook publishing industry. She and Jim raised their children in the suburbs of Chicago. Upon moving to Missouri, her family expanded to include her grandchildren whom she absolutely adored.
Cathy is preceded in death by her brother Ron Hatridge.
She is survived by her husband Jim, children Amy Fjell and husband Erik, Cory and wife Lacey LaVallee, father Don Hatridge, mother Wanda Rodgers, brother Randy Hatridge, Grandchildren, Jackson Fjell and wife Kyra, Bryce Fjell, Presley LaVallee, Caraline Fjell, Gibson LaVallee, and one great grandson Ashton Fjell.
She enjoyed many things including painting, decorating, cooking, baking, Bible Studies and cruises.
Cathy’s loved ones give God all the glory for her life and are grateful for the time we had her with us. We love you, Cathy, Mom, Nana! Fly to Jesus and live!
Visitation for Cathy will be from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East 3540 East Seminole with service following at 11:30 a.m. A private burial at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
