Cecil D. Ferguson, 96 died July 5th 2016 at the Ozarks Methodist Manor, Marionville MO. Cecil was born in Buffalo, MO to Curtis and Aleen Ferguson, who were also longtime residents of the Manor.
Cecil attended school in Buffalo, MO. graduating in 1937 and Southwest Missouri State College where he earned his B.S. in 1941.
His military career began in May of 1941, completing 23 years with the U.S. Marine Corp. He retired in June 1964 as Lieutenant Colonel. His foreign service included the Southwest Pacific, China and Japan. He earned the Bronze star in Korea 1954.
Cecil and Ruth (deceased 2008) were married in Klamath Falls, Oregon in 1945 and celebrated 63 years together. They had one child Leah, deceased June 2007.
Cecil was predeceased by his parents Curtis and Aleen Ferguson, siblings Derry W. Ferguson and Anita Poulignot. His wife Ruth and daughter Leah. He is survived by his sister Louise Floyd. He leaves behind 4 nephews and a niece, 3 great nephews and 1 great niece, and 3 great great nieces and 1 great great nephew.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Mountain Grove Missouri at a later date.
