Charles Edward Foltz, age 92, of Springfield, MO, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at Missouri Veterans Home. He was born March 13, 1924, in Hickory Co., MO, to Floyd and Elizabeth (Blackwell) Foltz. He was a long time member of the Norhtside Christian Church. He served in the U.S. United States Army during W.W.II , during this time, he won the Purple Heart and the citation for crossing the Rhine river. Charles retired from the Springfield Public Schools and he had volunteered for 13 years for the Ozark’s Food Harvest.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 56 years Dona Faye Foltz and his second wife of 7 years Cleo Foltz, his grandson; Nathan, great-grandson; Jacob and his sister Marie Andrews. He is survived by his 4 sons; Charles L. Foltz, (Cheryl) Verona, MO. Thomas E. Foltz (Sherri) Bellville,Il. John Bill Foltz,(Rhonda) ( Springfield, MO and Bruce Foltz, (Shellie) Springfield, MO, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and a step-daughter; Sue Ash, (Mike) El Dorado Springs, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ozark’s Food Harvest.
