Chris G. Mattox , 49 , of Republic , passed away July 1, 2020 at Mercy Hospital .
Chris was born October 11, 1970 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, to Gail Mattox and Jacque Stephenson . He was a graduate of Parkview High School, and attended Drury University. Chris retired from The Unites States Army. He worked for Ozark Correctional Center as a Grievance Officer. He was united in Marriage to Melissa Ball on April 1, 2018 in Eureka Springs, MO. Chris was an avid Cardinals fan. He enjoyed target shooting and spending time with his friends and family. Chris and Melissa attended North Point Church, Springfield Campus.
Chris is survived by his loving wife, Melissa D. Mattox of the home; daughter, Tiffany Mattox; mother, Jacque Stephenson and husband Tommy; one brother, Rob Mattox; one sister, Melissa Mattox; special friend, Renee Goodman Goeppner; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gail Mattox; and one infant sister.
The family will receive friends from 6 -8 pm, Friday, July 3, 2020 at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, with private services on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made in Chris’ name to to PKD Foundation .
