Clarence (Corkey) Oliver Reeves was born on July 25, 1939, in Centerville, Illinois, and went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2023, in Springfield, Missouri. He graduated from Woolmarket high school, Mississippi, and served in the U.S. Navy and Marines, having received an honorable discharge. For most of his professional career, Corkey was a carpet installer. He was married to his sweetheart, Carole Yvonne Rentfrow, for 61 years, and together they reared three sons: Rodney, Denny, and Chris.
Corkey was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carole, his father and mother, Marion and Marie Reeves, his brother Doug Reeves, sister Betty Kramer, and several other members of his extended family. He is survived by his sons Rodney (Sheri) Reeves, Denny (Paula) Reeves, and Chris Reeves, grandchildren, Andrew (Sabra Watkins) Reeves, Emma (Aaron Minnes) Reeves, Grace (Norris) Rettiger, Josh (Amanda) Reeves, Zach (Taylor) Reeves, Bryce Reeves, and Callie Reeves, and great-granddaughters, Eisley and Rilyn Reeves.
Corkey loved to fish and spend time with his family. Becoming a Christian when he was a young man, Corkey was most recently a member of South Haven Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to South Haven Baptist Church, or First Baptist Church, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Services for Corkey will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:00 prior to the service. Graveside serves with full military honors will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Mithell Campground Cemetery in Polk County.
