Clyde E Hoover, a long time resident of Pleasant Hope, died Saturday, September 17th, at the age of 93. He was born on September 8, 1923 in a small house in Pleasant Hope. He was united in marriage to Mamie Esther Molen on December 23, 1940. They had a long and fulfilling marriage of 71 years and 5 months before Mamie preceded him in death in 2012. Clyde and Mamie were both saved in a brush arbor meeting in 1941. They were members of Brighton Baptist Church for 55 years where Clyde served as Deacon and Trustee for years. Clyde was also preceded in death by two infant sons, Rickie and Jerry Hoover, and his elder son, Gary Hoover, at age 71. His survivors include son, Larry and wife Karen of Fredericktown MO; daughter Carol and her husband Carlos Hodson of Pleasant Hope; 7 grandchildren 21 great- grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, Sept 19th from 6-8 pm and services are Tuesday, Sept 20th at 3:00 pm, both at Greenlawn North Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hope Cemetary.
