Our beautiful mother, Nana, and friend, Connie Etter Moore, of Lee’s Summit, MO (formerly Republic, MO), went home to be with God in heaven on September 12, 2023. Connie will be forever remembered for her unending love for others, time spent telling stories of days gone by, and the pure joy that lit up her face when you told her anything good about her children, grandchildren, and great grandbabies.
Connie was born in Marlow, OK on September 16, 1950 to John & Helen (Archer) Bower and had 5 siblings: Butch, Sonny, Donna, Janelle, and Barry Lynn. Later, Connie eventually gained a stepfather, Bill Bower, and half-sister, Lisa Ann. Connie attended Bray and Central schools.
Connie found her forever love of her life when she met Danny and they married on July 15, 1966 in his family home in Lawton, OK. When she lost him to cancer in 2014, her love never wavered, and she longed to be with him again. Their three children were born in the 1960’s and 1970’s, Julie, Ronnie, and Misti. In 1995, Danny and Connie discovered their family tree wasn’t done and completed their loving family with the adoption of Shania.
Throughout her life, Connie was a hairdresser at salons in Oklahoma and Missouri and spent her time providing salon services at nursing homes in Republic, MO. But her most favorite job was being a homemaker and mother to her children. She also had a knack for sewing, endlessly scrolling Facebook to keep up with family and friends, proclaimed her style choice as “gaudy”, loved homemade tacos and breakfast burritos, and enjoyed every single minute she spent with family.
Connie is survived by her son Ronnie Moore and wife Angel, her daughter Misti Preston and husband Blaine, and her daughter Shania Moore. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Tyler, Sydni, Tiffani, Sophi, and Bodey, two beautiful great grandbabies, Phoenix Denise and Romely June, sister Janelle Underwood, and other family plus friends that were just like her family.
Connie was met in heaven by her husband, Danny, daughter Julie, her mother and father, and numerous family and friends. We know they rejoiced to see her beautiful face.
Her services will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home – East, 3540 E. Seminole, Springfield, MO. A brief visitation will precede the funeral at 1 p.m. on September 15, 2023, with funeral immediately following at 2 p.m. She will be laid to rest between her husband and daughter at Greenlawn Cemetery, 3506 N. National, Springfield, immediately following funeral services.
Connie will be carried to her final resting place by her pall bearers her son, daughters, son-in-law, daughter-in-law and her grandchildren.
Connie, Momma, Nana – Through the illnesses and ups and downs, we carried you through – and we will forever carry your memory in our hearts. We love you to the moon and back, forever and always. We will see you, Dad, and Julie in heaven one day soon…
