In Loving Memory of Cynthia Lea Gardner
Cynthia Lea Gardner, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on September 2, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 20, 1946, in Springfield, MO, to her parents Claude Leslie “Les” and Carol (Burrow) Reynolds. Cindy was a cherished member of her community, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth Gardner on December 26, 1965, and they shared nearly 33 years together before his untimely passing in 1998.
Cynthia, affectionately known as Cindy, had a passion for all things artistic. As an accomplished artist, she expressed her creativity through her beautiful paintings, capturing the essence of nature’s wonders in vibrant colors. Cindy’s artistic talent was admired by many, leaving a lasting impression through her artwork.
Her warm and compassionate nature made her a dear friend to all. Cindy had an incredible ability to connect with people and enjoyed socializing with her loved ones. She had a genuine love for cats and found solace in their companionship. Her home was filled with love and joy, thanks to her furry companions.
Cindy found beauty not only in art but also in the simple pleasures of life. She loved exploring new culinary delights and could often be found dining out with her family and friends, savoring every bite. Additionally, she had a green thumb and spent countless hours tending to her cherished garden, cultivating an oasis of blossoming beauty and tranquility.
In her professional life, Cindy had a successful career as a talented hair stylist in the cosmetology industry. Her dedication and skillful touch transformed countless individuals, leaving them feeling confident and beautiful.
Before Cindy’s health declined, she greatly enjoyed attending services and sharing her faith with her family at North Point Church in Nixa.
Cindy will be deeply missed by her daughter Leslie, son Todd, daughter-in-law Terri, and her beloved grandchildren Brett, Aaron, and Cody. She is also survived by her brother Mike and sister-in-law Vicki Reynolds; and dear friends, Joette Curtis and Marilyn Burks, who will forever cherish the memories shared together.
Cindy’s family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. A memorial service, celebrating the remarkable life of Cynthia Lea Gardner, will be held on September 7, 2023, at 10:00 am also at the funeral home. Friends, family, and those who were touched by her kindness are welcome to attend and pay their respects.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri in memory of Cindy. May her kind heart and artistic spirit continue to inspire all who knew her.
