Dale Allen Bocklund, 66 years old of Joplin, Missouri passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
Dale was born on Saturday, March 20, 1954 in DeKalb County, Illinois to Onnie Gulley and Julia Bocklund. He was united in marriage with the love of his life, Bonita Younger Adams, on Friday, May 17, 1996 in Joplin, Missouri. Dale spent most of his career as a heavy equipment mechanic. He took pride in his career for the last 23 years at Four State Trucks. Dale had a passion for the outdoors since he was a child. He loved to hunt and to fish, and he was very proud to share his passion with his grandsons. His favorite fishing spot was at Roaring River State Park. He was a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and cherished their Super Bowl win last year. He had a big generous heart, understood the value of hard work, and always helped others. He was a great chef who enjoyed cooking and grilling. The greatest love of his life was spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bonita Bocklund; father, Onnie Gulley; four children, Ryan Sadler, Carrie Sadler, Holly Adams, and Clay Adams and wife Sherry; grandchildren, Gentry Adams and fiancée Lauren Johnson, Alexis Runkle and Brendan Scott, Asher Adams, and Levi Adams; great-grandchildren, Langston Adams and Koehn Burns; two sisters, Vickie Hagerman and Debbie Gulley; two brothers, James Gulley and Kevin Gulley; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death, and we trust he is reunited with his mother, Julia Wood, stepfather, Woody Wood, and brother, Mike Wood.
A memorial visitation will be from 11 am – 1 pm, Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Traders Church,212 S Joplin Ave, Joplin, MO 64801, masks are required. In Memory of Dale, the family suggests donating in his name to the Missouri Department of Conservation or Roaring River State Park, in care of Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
