Debra “Debbie” Jean Price, 69, Springfield, MO. passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022, in her home with her family by her side. She was born on February 1, 1953, in Marshfield, MO. to James B. and Nina H. (McFerren) McClanahan. Debbie attended Hillcrest High School in Springfield, MO. and later attended a Community College, in Montpelier, VT. Over the years Debbie perfected her secretarial skills working for various law firms, engineering firms, and finished out her career as an Administrative Assistant for The State of Missouri Attorney Generals Office. Debbie loved her life, and enjoyed going out dancing with her sweetheart Dennis in their younger years. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, watching old time movies, cooking, loving on her family pets, and most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents, James Boyd McClanahan and Nina Helen Fritts, and her beloved son, Troy James Griffin. Debra is survived by her husband of 31 years, Dennis Lee Price, they were married September 23, 1991, in Springfield, MO. She is also survived by her two daughters: Shelly Riley, and Sheila Seal and her husband Michael Seal, and her step-son: David Price. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Hunter Riley and his wife, Samantha; Truman Seal, Georgia Seal, Lindsay Griffin, and Carly Griffin; her great-granddaughter: Zoeyana Riley, her sisters: Polly and Jim Randolph; Dorothy Hamilton; Shirley Rader; Betty and Hershel Nichols; and Reta and Charles Mathis, her brothers: Jimmy Donald & Linda McClanahan; Jerry David and Daisy McClanahan, as well as numerous special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Anyone who knew Debbie, knew how strong of a lady she truly was. She had a spirit that would never allow her to give up. Debbie was very passionate and protective of her family and would do anything for them.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention or the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri in Debbie Price’s name.
Funeral services to celebrate Debbie will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2022, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2022, in the funeral home.
