Donald Elliott passed from this life on October 24, 2014 at Mercy Hospital.
Don grew up in Independence, Missouri. He graduated from William Chrisman High School, Central Missouri State College,
with a BS in Business Administration; and received Certification as a Rehabilitation Counselor from MU in Columbia. Don retired from the State of Missouri. He was a Christ follower and a member of Second Baptist Church. Don was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Korea; a member of Alpha Kappa Lambdaand had served on numerous local and state boards. He was a dedicated fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals.
He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters. Only one sister, Delia Thompson survives the siblings.
Don leaves to celebrate his memory, his wife Brenda of 50 years; son Trevor and wife Sonja of Lees Summit, Mo. and son Tobin Elliott and wife Holly of Springfield. The added blessings of his life were his three grandchildren:
Hunter, Tanner and Kinsey. Time spent with his family was most precious to him.
Don fought cancer with quiet dignity just as he lived his life.
Visitation will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home East from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. Wednesday, October 29, 2014 with services following at 12:30 P.M.
Interment will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to: Second Baptist Church, Upward Bound Basketball program.
